“A Man’s Promise” – This is stunning.

I am blessed to be marrying a man who lives this brand of integrity, power, and belief daily. I’ve been hurt a lot through the actions of men – especially because I spent three years in the Middle East, where men’s condescension and objectification of me was often palpable. I’m not bitter. I have no interest in blaming all men for the behavior of some. On the contrary, I want every man on earth to shine and fulfill his God-given destiny. Moreover, I want to work, love, and transform the world side-by-side with men. Men are awesome.

And men who love women well are inspirational.

A HUGE thank you to those men. 🙂

Women in Leadership – Quote (YES!)

The following is an absolutely exceptional and insightful quotation from one of the leaders at my church. His name is Kris Vallotton.

UNEDITED excerpt from the book I am writing entitled God’s Most Beautiful Creation. It reads much better in the context of the chapter. 🙂

The truth is that the absence of the feminine and matriarchal presence in leadership has come at an incalculable and at times cataclysmic expense to society. In the last 30 years I’ve observed many women coming into their place in leadership but for multiple reasons they are often required to play the patriarchal role. This of course puts them at a disadvantage in leadership because it doesn’t optimize their abilities. Many observe this dynamic and conclude that men are better leaders than women.

I would like to propose to you that men are better patriarchs than women and women are stronger matriarchs than men. Both roles are equally important and carry the same level of authority but they require different skills, strengths, and attributes. WE DON’T NEED WOMEN TO LEAD LIKE MEN. The world is starving for matriarchs who are compassion driven, intuitively gifted, nurturing, leaders. These leaders foster the maternal instinct in society that gives birth to a much more loving, caring, patient, and compassionate planet.

I Love You More – Spoken Word – YouTube

This is really compelling. Please take the time to watch it. I must say, there is a revolution happening among men in this era that is bringing me new healing and wholeness. Growing up I often felt “less than” because I was female. I felt scrutinized and I often felt like my dreams were not important because I was female.

Recently a friend jokingly asked, partly in reference to the Middle East, “When do women learn how to trick men?” Ouch. The words stung. “Um, I don’t know what exactly you are referring to. If women resort to manipulation it is because they are not empowered. People who are not empowered, whether male or female, resort to manipulation to be heard. That is often what happens in the Middle East, especially.”

That is why I want to raise up courageous and free women IN the Middle East. However, the men must value them and listen to their voices for this to happen. Of course, this needs to increase in America too, which is why this video makes me so happy. It is liberating to be valued for who you are.

Get liberated. Men and women. Value others for who they are and value yourself for who you are. Let’s stop objectifying and start edifying. And let’s transform the world together.
