Invest belief in the Middle East today.

I am the faculty mentor for Simpson University’s Middle East WorldServe team. Today, the team (Christine and Hillary) will board a plane with 7 months of planning and praying in their pockets. They will live out their beliefs in a radical way. They believe a nation can be changed by hope and love. They believe the Middle East can truly flourish.

They’ve walked through their own dreams, doubts, relationships, and the regular commitments of their lives to a wide open field of possibility. They’ve followed the voice of God with great passion.

I am very, very proud of them.

They raised $5,906! That is incredible. Moreover, they have seen the hearts of those around them open up to new love for the Middle East!

However, they still need a measly $894.

Would you give toward their hope-adventure today? Even a dollar is a statement of agreement and support for their love-commission to the Middle East. The very ground in that region will feel your belief in its success. And you’ll get to be part of something powerful that WILL change a nation.

If you choose to give, THANK YOU, from the boiling pot of passionate love for the Middle East that ever-gurgles inside me: THANK YOU.

2012 in review: My Blog’s Year

The WordPress.com stats helper people prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

My favorite statistic:

People in 151 countries visited my blog this year!!!!!

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 18,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 4 Film Festivals

How to Overcome Disappointment

This is one of my go-to aids for strengthening myself in the Lord and overcoming the waves, instead of the waves overcoming me.

How to Overcome Disappointment

by Bill Johnson

  1. Get alone with God in absolute honesty. (ie. “I know you aren’t the author of this, but I feel like you betrayed me and I need you to heal me.”)
  2. Go to the psalms. Read until you hear your voice in the psalms. When you find that you find the beginning of your healing. When you find that place, stay there.
  3. If you want peace that passes understanding, you have to give up your right to understand.

Love. It’s bigger than I know.

“Love. It’s bigger than I know. With love there is no fear of punishment. In fearless love I find
abundant life. God is not afraid of my mistakes, and He’s not going to manage my half of ‘us.’ Fear
shuts me down. As a son, I love, live, and leave a legacy. Am I courageously running toward a dream?
Nothing can conquer me. I can face my greatest fears. There is freedom in love. Slaves must obey or
suffer, as a son I have a daddy who is cheering me on. As a son I have an inheritance, a responsibility,
and it requires me to be powerful. What makes me powerful is that I remember who I am. Sin is
anything that causes me to miss out on the abundant life that God wants me to have.”
