Well folks, I finished reading “Faith Under Fire” by Canon Andrew White. It was great. It’s a stunning blend of sleeping with one’s hiking boots on while clutching one’s teddy bear: bravery and innocence at rest. Since I am planning to relocate to Baghdad next year to work with Andrew it is particularly evocative and insightful. I really believe HOPE is hope is against all odds – this is the nature of hope. And this is the nature of God. This truth is well-reflected in Andrew’s life and it gives my heart much joy. The things we will see in fullness of life, flourishing, and prosperity in the Middle East this decade will be far beyond anyone’s imaginings. “Shock and awe” will take on a spiritual connotation as the world is shocked and awed by the glory of God manifest in Iraq.
